Portland-Area Daytime Trick or Treating

When you have little kids, there’s one big problem with Halloween – the trick or treating starts so late! Neighborhood businesses across Portland accommodate our little ghouls and goblins, opening their doors to trick or treaters well before the sun goes down. Whether it’s your pre-trick or treating routine or the whole shebang, here are some great options for Portland-area daytime trick or treating.

Trick or Treat on Denver StreetVisit businesses along N. Denver (& Side Streets) between N. Schofield & N. Argyle! Be sure to check out the Trunk or Treat location in the Hive Tattoo Parking lot.
Thursday October 26, 5-7 pm

Howloween at the Zoo. The zoo provides a fun and safe setting for this Halloween tradition, where costumed trick-or-treaters learn about wildlife in a fun scavenger hunt throughout the zoo. In keeping with the zoo’s mission, Howloween aims to be educational as well as fun. Scavenger hunts and activities are themed to teach kids about animals around the world, and their habitats and adaptations. Kids can collect treats & prizes at the different stations. Activities are best suited for children 2-12, but all are welcome. Cost is free with zoo admission. Purchase tickets here. 
October 28, 10 am to 3 pm

2017 Trick or Treat at the Streets of Tanasbourne Trick or Treat at The Streets at participating merchants.  Event is for children in costume, ages 12 and under.
October 28, 2017, 1pm – 3pm (or while supplies last)

Halloween in the Village. Participating businesses hand out treats for kids. Stop at Starbucks for a map and a hot drink to keep you going.
October 31, 3-5 pm

Trick or Treat on Mississippi Ave. Join for another year of trick-or-treat fun on Mississippi Ave. Orange and black balloons mark the sweet stops and shops that have candy galore for the kids. RSVP on Facebook for updates.
October 31, 3-6 pm

Montavilla Trick or Treat on Glisan Street. Visit businesses on East Glisan Street (between 68th and 82nd Avenue) for candy, discounts, games and other activities!
October 31, 3-6 pm

Trick or Treat Alberta Street. Alberta Street businesses with Trick or Treat Alberta Street posters on display will be providing treats to costumed children as they trick or treat up and down NE Alberta Street. The first 500 kids who trick or treat at Green Bean Books (1600 NE Alberta-on the patio!) in costume will get a limited edition trick or treat bag.
October 31, 3:30-6 pm

Trick or Treat on Main Street, Oregon City. Join your friends and gather your family for an eerily good time in downtown Oregon City. This annual event brings several hundred kids and their parents downtown for an evening of fun as kids are invited to trick-or-treat down Main Street at participating businesses.
October 31, 4-6 pm

Mall Trick or Treat at Cedar Hills Crossing. Join for Mall-o-Ween! Look for the bright orange sign on windows of participating interior and exterior stores/restaurants.  It’s that easy! While supplies last.
October 31, 5:30-7 pm

Trick or Treat on Main Street, Tigard. This free event is great for families and kids of all ages. Kids and adults are encouraged to dress up as their favorite character and enjoy trick or treating at over 80 percent of businesses on Main Street in Downtown Tigard. October 31, 4-6 pm

Belmont’s Trinkets & Treats. Look for a pumpkin poster in each participating business window from Bare Bones Café & Bar (29th and Belmont), to Belmont EcoLaundry (47th and Belmont). End your route at Hawthorne Gardens (28th and Taylor) to enjoy a free haunted house! You can snag candy and toothbrushes from Smiles on Belmont to help keep those teeth healthy through the holiday sweets.Pick up special treats from Advantis Credit Union, Circa 33, Twill, Go Green Tax, Cascadia Pilates & CoreAlign, Never Coffee and Next Home Realty along the way.A map of all the participating locations will be posted on line before Halloween at www.belmontdistrict.org
Tuesday October 31, 4-6 pm

The Kennedy School Trick or Treat. Come celebrate the spookiest of holidays. Kids in costumes are invited for trick or treating. Bing those pumpkin buckets for gathering treats. Willamette Radio Workshop will be there from 4 to 5:30, and music by the Coastline comes on at 7.
