Portland Parks Ladybug Walk in SW PDX. Perfect for preschoolers and parents who want to explore nature with trained preschool naturalists. Children are guided along the trails of various parks in all corners of the city by an Environmental Educator. Walks go at just the right pace and introduce children to forests, water, insects, plants, and animals.
Mr. Ben Plays Live Music for Kids and Their Grownups in SE PDX. Mr. Ben sings your child’s favorite songs in Taborspace’s beautiful, comfortable, inclusive setting. Live music stimulates kids’ cognitive development.
Vibe: Parent and Child Art Class for Children in SE PDX. During this open studio, children can experiment and play with a variety of quality art materials, tools and processes. Little artists welcome ages 2-5.
McMenamins 18th Annual UFO Festival in McMinnville. Alien costume parade, free live music indoors and out, a 5K run, a pet costume contest, live radio/podcasts and more out-of-this-world events – such as alien lasertag. Make plans to join in the fun!

Kohl’s Car Seat Check-Up in Wood Village. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to have their children’s car seats checked. Certified child passenger safety technicians are available to work individually with families to provide installation education and support, at no cost.
Tualatin River Bird Festival in Sherwood. Family activities include hands-on educational arts and crafts to help children learn about nature, building a bird and butterfly house for their backyard, and painting a duck decoy. Visitors can learn to catch a fish, try their hand at archery, practice shooting a BB gun or play migratory putt-putt golf.
Volunteer with us and Northwest Children’s Outreach! Come do good with PDX Parent and Northwest Children’s Outreach. Children ages 4 and up can help sort donated items. You must sign up ahead of time, and we are capped at 30 people per slot. Sign up here.
Leach Garden Children’s Nature Fair in SE PDX. This year’s theme is Traveling Seeds. Learn about seeds of all kinds, including those that disperse by traveling. In addition to all the fun seed activities, there will be arts/crafts tables, a story teller, take home plantings, music, slug races, 25 cent ice cream and more.
OMSI Star Party: Planet Parade at Rooster Rock and L.L. Stub Stewart State Park. From beginners to experts of all ages, here’s your opportunity to view the stars and other celestial objects up close and personal through telescopes. Viewing highlights planet Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, and more.

Superhero Day in SE PDX. What is your superpower? What do you fight for? Come express your superpower through games, crafts, photo ops, face painting, sweet treats, and prizes. Batman will be there!
Dozer Day in Vancouver. Dozer Day is the ultimate construction experience: putting kids in the driver’s seat to operate dump trucks, dozers and excavators all while educating about building sustainable communities, industry opportunities and public safety. Dozer Day takes place Saturday and Sunday.
