This year Revels will transport audiences to the late 19th century, aboard one of the last immigrant sailing ships to cross the Atlantic from Ireland to New York. To properly say goodbye to their past, the travelers decide to hold an “American Wake” aboard the ship. An American Wake was a traditional send-off ceremony for friends and neighbors to say goodbye to those leaving Ireland for America.
