Christmas Tree lighting celebrations are taking place throughout the Portland-Metro area. Singing, Santa sightings, and holiday festivities of all sorts fill these celebrations. Find one in your area and join in a wonderful, family-oriented, community celebration!

Official Tree Lighting & First Snowfall
Join Lloyd Center for our official tree lighting and first snowfall over the ice. Enjoy short skating performance, hot chocolate and cookies at Lloyd Center Ice.

2017 Tree Lighting Ceremony Presented By SmartPark
Join thousands of Portlanders to celebrate the official start of the season by lighting the City’s spectacular 75 ft. Douglas-fir.
The day after Thanksgiving, thousands of Portlanders will gather at the Square to celebrate the lighting of the spectacular 75ft Tree provided by Stimson Lumber Company. This beloved community tradition will feature a holiday sing-a-long with Thomas Lauderdale and members of Pink Martini, the NW Community Gospel Choir and friends! With a big tree, over 14,000 colorful lights and Portland’s largest community sing-a-long this is an event you won’t want to miss!

Community Tree Lighting + Pops Concert
The Vancouver holiday season will kick off on Friday, November 24 with the Vancouver Rotary Foundation’s annual Community Tree Lighting in Esther Short Park and Vancouver Pops Orchestra concert at the Vancouver Hilton, presented by Waste Connections, Inc.

Christmas Tree Lighting: A Festival of Twinkling Lights
The City of Lake Oswego and the Lake Oswego Chamber of Commerce invite you to join in a time-honored tradition as we ring in the holiday season.  This extraordinary evening of cheer includes caroling, performances from Lakeridge and Lake Oswego High School choirs and holiday tunes from Millennium Concert Band. Gather at the corner of 5th Street & A Avenue to see the lighting of the Bigelow Plaza Holiday Tree, then parade to Millennium Park for the lighting of the Millennium Tree.  The festivities also include sweet treats at Millennium courtesy of Starbucks and a special guest from the North Pole delivered by our own Lake Oswego Fire Department.

Hood River Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting
Experience the small-town charm of Hood River at the annual holiday parade and tree lighting. Kick off your holiday shopping in the historic downtown, and then watch the holiday parade as it winds through downtown. The evening culminates with the city tree lighting, caroling, and perhaps even a Santa sighting. Hood River Holidays shopping from 4 pm-6 pm at select downtown merchants; Holiday parade at 6 pm begins on Oak Street and Seventh Avenue and heads downtown; Tree lighting and caroling on State and Second Streets at 7 pm.

Starry Nights and Holiday Lights
On the first Friday in December bring your family and friends down to the Lake at the Tualatin Commons at 8325 SW Nyberg Street to slip into the holiday spirit and watch the tree lighting ceremony while marveling at the holiday lights around the lake. Crowds enjoy a free event featuring carolers, refreshments, activities for the kids and holiday cheer. Come be a part of a special night filled with tens of thousands of twinkling lights, hundreds of song-filled voices, and the lighting of the floating holiday tree.

Living Tree Lighting
Get in the spirit of the season with free, family fun at the 6th Annual Tree Lighting on Alberta Street! Visit with Santa, enjoy a holiday music, join us in “flipping the switch” and celebrate with cookies & hot drinks!

Hillsboro Holly Days & Tree Lighting
Welcome the holiday season in historic Downtown Hillsboro on the first Saturday in December with the annual Holly Days and Tree Lighting ceremony. The date this year is Saturday, December 2nd, 2017. Downtown merchants are open for business, and will be hosting a business lighting competition this year. Tom Hughes Civic Center Plaza is always bustling with holiday cheer and excitement leading up to the awe-inspiring tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m.

Holiday Open House & Tree Lighting Ceremony
In 2017, the city will again partner with the German International School to host the annual German Holiday Market from 10 am-9 pm at the City Park parking lot. Traditionally held at the German International School, the market brings the traditions of a European winter holiday including German food, crafts, live music, wine and beer tastings and more!

Oregon City Tree Lighting Ceremony
Join Santa Saturday, December 2nd for the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in Downtown Oregon City! Festivities begin at 4:30 pm with performances and a holiday carol sing-a-long. Santa arrives at 5 pm so get there here early and enjoy the music and refreshments! Following the tree lighting ceremony, children and families have an opportunity to sit with Santa! Don’t forget to bring your camera for the perfect holiday photo!

Umbrella Parade and Tree Lighting 
Join the Milwaukie holiday tradition of decorating umbrellas and parading through downtown ending with the lighting of the tree. Parade participants are asked to convene by 3:45 pm, the parade marches at 4:15 pm and the tree will be lit at 5 pm.
