Fun and Festive Holiday Games for Kids

‘Tis the season for twinkling lights, hot chocolate and, of course, holiday parties. Whether you’re volunteering at your kid’s school party, hosting your own, or just looking for something to do on a rainy afternoon, these games are sure to be fun and festive.

Silver Bells Memory Game. All you need for this game is some Hershey kisses, some dot stickers and a sharpie. Write two of each letter you are using on the sticker, stick them to the bottom of the kisses, and play an edible game of Memory.

Candy Cane Catch. Make a “fishing rod” using a chopstick, string, and a candy cane. Then try to grab candy canes with your fishing rod. To make this even trickier, you can use your mouth!

Jingle Bell Toss. So maybe it *slightly* resembles beer pong, but promise, this one is kid-friendly. Grab some plastic cups, a few loose jingle bells, and let the tossing begin.

Hot Potato. Start by wrapping one small gift, then add another item and wrap it again. Continue until you have at least one gift for every child participating, all wrapped up in one large package.

Snowman Slam. Stack six Styrofoam cups in a pyramid (you can decorate them to look like snowmen first!), then try to knock them down with “snowballs” made out of rolled-up socks.

Reindeer Food Station. Everyone knows to leave cookies and milk for Santa, but what about those hard-working reindeer? Create little sachets of reindeer food to keep them going for their long journey.

Pin the Nose on the Reindeer.  Cut out some eyes, a mouth and antlers, and pin them to a cork board. Cut out as many red circles for the nose as you’ll need. Then, as like pin the tail on the donkey, the child who gets closest to where the nose should be wins. Another option? Buy a pack of red circle stickers and have the kids stick them on a picture of a reindeer.

Christmas Charades. Just like regular charades but with a holiday theme. Create your own clues, or download this free printable.
