There are times when you’re all over that “making dinner” thing. You got your weekly shopping trip done, you know what you want to make, you have all the ingredients you need…. And then there are those times (and let’s be honest, this is most of the time) when you’re scrambling to figure out what to make, looking for ingredients in the back of the cupboard and just generally feeling like a hopeless home chef.

These meal delivery kits help to streamline your dinner prep. Each comes with recipes, all the ingredients you need and—best yet—they’re delivered straight to your door. Here’s the rundown on each.

Acme Farms and Kitchen. ACME is a local company with the goal of making access to local food easier. Started by a mom of toddlers, you know that you’ll be getting fresh, organic, feel-good food for your family. The Locavore Boxes contain an assortment of seasonal food from local farmers, fishers, ranchers and artisans. Sample meals might include items like crispy black bean tacos, braised beef short ribs caramelized onion mashed potatoes, or pasta carbonara with kale. The Details:
Pricing: Orders range from $75 for a small locavore box (enough to cook about 3 meals for 3-4 people) to $155 for the Paleo Box (enough for 5 meat- and fish-based meals).
Special diet accommodations? Yes. There are options for vegetarian and gluten-free.

Blue Apron.  Blue Apron offers many meals to choose from, made up of farm-fresh seasonal produce, and meat and produce with no added hormones. Sample menus include seared steak with garlic mashed potatoes and sautéed broccoli, masala-spiced chicken with kale and lime rice, or butternut squash risotto with Brussels sprouts and chestnuts. Special diet accommodations? Yes, vegetarian options are available for the 2-person plan.

Gobble. Gobble sends ingredients for farm-fresh meals that are ready with only ten-minutes of prep time—a great option for those days when the kids have late soccer practice or you’re running in late from work. All meals are able to be prepared with only three steps. Ingredients are pre-chopped and par-cooked. Sample meals include Thai chicken curry, soba noodles with miso salmon, or meatloaf and mac and cheese.
The Details:
Pricing: $11.95 per person per meal if you order 6 or more meals; $13.95 per meal if you order 4 meals.
Special diet accommodations? Yes, each week there are meals that are dairy-free, nut-free, or gluten-free.

Green Chef. Green Chef is certified organic, has no synthetic pesticides, no GMOs, no artificial ingredients, and no growth hormones or antibiotics in its ingredients. The meals also come in eco-friendly packaging. Sample meals include cauliflower mac & cheese, apple rosemary chicken, and gruyere sausage polenta.
Pricing: Pricing depends on what box you choose. The cheapest per meal is the vegetarian option, at $10.49 per meal. The most expensive are the carnivore and gluten-free options, at $13.49 per meal.
Special diet accommodations? Yes. They’ve got choices for vegetarian, gluten-free, carnivores, vegan and paleo.  

Hello Fresh. Hello Fresh uses healthy, nutritionally-balanced ingredients in its recipes. The recipe cards are easy to follow, with your dinner available in 30 minutes or less. Sample meals include pan-roasted chicken with Dijon mushroom sauce and Israeli couscous, loaded lentil salad with honey-roasted sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts, or Korean-style beef with broccoli, ginger and jasmine rice.
The Details:
Pricing: Plans are between $8.75 and $9.90 per person.
Special diet accommodations? Yes, there is a vegetarian option.

Martha Stewart with Marley Spoon. This service supports the slow food movement—that means good, food, produced in a way that does not harm the environment, and that provides fair conditions and pay for producers. Sample recipes include maple-glazed chicken with Brussels sprouts and red onions, keema curry with buttered naan, or Mexican cod and potato stew.
Pricing: Meals are about $12 per person for the two-person box, and around $10 per person for the family box (serves two adults and two children).  
Special diet accommodations? There are vegetarian options to choose from.

Munchery. Munchery offers pre-made food delivery, as well as meal kits. The chef-designed meal kits take about 15 minutes to make, and are made with fresh ingredients. Sample meals include shrimp spring rolls, salmon burger with Asian slaw, or peppered steak and smashed potatoes.  
Pricing: The 2-dinner box (4 servings) is $51.95 per box; the 3-dinner box (6 servings) is $69.95 per box. You can also order by the meal, at around $12 per person.
Special diet accommodations? Yes, there is a vegetarian option available for the small box.

Plated. You can choose from 11 recipes each week—with a dessert option. Some recipes are ready in less than 20 minutes—some may take up to an hour. Ingredients are farm-sourced seasonal ingredients, responsibly-sourced meats and sustainable seafood. Sample meals include miso-glazed cod with bok choy and crispy potatoes, cheesy butternut squash tacos, or apple cider turkey burgers.

Pricing: Meals begin at $12 per person. Desserts are available at $4 per serving.

Sunbasket. Sunbasket offers organic and non-GMO ingredients delivered weekly. The recipe cards are beautiful, gourmet and easy to follow. Meals are usually ready in about 30 minutes. Sample meals include catfish with smashed cucumber and cilantro-cashew sauce, roasted chicken with kale, sweet potatoes and artichoke romesco, or salmon with roasted potatoes, field greens salad and chive crème fraiche. Pricing: Meals are $11.49 per person. You pay a $5.99 delivery fee too.
Special diet accommodations? Yes, Sunbasket offers gluten-free, paleo and vegetarian meal options.

Terra’s Kitchen. You choose from a selection of recipes, and then receive a fully-prepped set of ingredients (organic and non-GMO when possible). Terra’s Kitchen uses recyclable and returnable packaging—leave it outside your door when you’re done for front-door pickup. Dinners are created to be ready in 30 minutes or less. Sample meals include buffalo chicken tacos, Mediterranean mezze salad, and parmesan tilapia with roasted vegetable couscous.
