Testimonials

I was a student from Children's House until the 11th grade. Shannon Pannell was my teacher for many of those years and provided me with a wonderful education. Thank you FMES! Matthew Micetic

I attended the Franciscan Montessori Earth School and St. Francis Academy from Children's House to the 10th grade. I would define it as the most important and valuable learning experience of my life. The philosophy creates and nourishes a never-ending hunger to learn and adapt. I have zero hesitation recommending the Franciscan Montessori Earth School. Anton Grohs

From my first interview with Mother Francine I knew the Franciscan Montessori Earth School was the learning experience I wanted for my children. Little did I guess this would become a family of shared commitment to learning, to respect for all life, and a pattern of thinking. For my children, I appreciated the integrated learning - not just academics but life skills--cooking, cleaning, camping, gardening, living together, working together; and I also appreciated the spiritual component that wove through all. For myself, I also gained skills I would learn for parenting my children to be independent, competent adults and socially to learn to be respectful even amid conflicting ideas and mores; to speak publicly, and to stand true to my ideals. I'm forever grateful for our Earth School experience - our family has been blessed by it. Michele Horton

As a child, I felt known and valued by the teachers and staff at the Earth School; that combined with the Montessori Method helped foster in me a love of learning. In addition, my time at the Earth School set me up for success as an adult by helping me develop practical life skills such as having a long attention span for full completion of projects, an appreciation for the world and people around me, a desire and ability to keep learning new things as well as the requisite study skills that were invaluable in college. Kelly Kessler

I know that my years in Montessori shaped me in countless ways. Two major skills that have helped me in all aspects of my life are a mastery of time management and a can-do (or can-learn) attitude. I'm able to focus on a task, work through it and complete it before moving on to the next one. If I don't know how to complete the task, I know to ask for help. I have had these skills for as long as I can remember, thanks to my parents choosing FMES. Kate Cook
